Re: Shocking!

Ram Narayan's posting has indeed created a flutter.
The so-called neo-secularists got a chance to spew
venom, while being diplomatic of their stance on other
Indian religions.
Where and which religion will you not find
fundamentalists? Krishna Tripathi, N.P. Singh, and S.
Jiyalal claims absolve those in Saffron Robes
preaching hatred and intolerance. Religion is a faith
much deeper and therefore far beyond these garbs-
whether Saffron or White. The issue is when people
wear blinkers and blindly follow these goons.
I agree- forcible conversion is bad, so is casteism,
sati, disempowerment of women, untouchability etc.
etc. Where does one draw a line? All such acts (some
of which have a religious connotation) must and should
be condemned. Therefore, there is no reason to single
out a religion and keep dissecting it. India has
larger issues that need immediate attention.
I completely disagree with the RSS/VHP proclamation of
"Swadeshi Churches". First, who gave them the
authority to speak for the Christians and second, why
do they think that Hinduism is at stake. Looking at
the figures it does not appear so. Christian
population has actually declined whereas the country's
population has swelled. Instead of gloating on the
addition to their numbers, they prefer to pinch
religious sentiments expecting no counter attack.
That is indeed vicious thinking.
I think the VHP/RSS prefers to be in the limelight.
And what is a better way of showing their poweress-
spread hatred and intolerance! Thumbs down to the
ruling government representatives participated and
quietly listened to the RSS chief's proclamation.
Explains what minorities can expect!
