Re:Shocking!- Rational approach to emotional reactions

Please help make the Manifesto better, or accept it, and propagate it!

Dear Ram:
Your over reacting instead of seeing the historical factors. It is said
that in
India, the poor, the illiterate and the tribals have their cultural roots in
the predominant Hinduism which dominated over 2000 years, perpetuated the
caste
heirarchy and took away the land rights of the indigenous Dalits and tribals.
Please read Dr Ambedkar's Analysis of both Hinduism and Christianity. The
Christian population has decreased over the years despite all the hulabulas of
conversion. It is now only 2.3%. So wat are you woriied! There are equally
fradulent methods exported from India than imported in every sphere including
religion. People are equally shocked on Gurujis , and swamijis in the name of
religion establishing their ashrams, maths, offering kama colas and spiritual
colas in the West .
Seventh Day Adventists , whom I had known, have a high reputation of being
vegetarians, good medical and health professionals working against alcoholism
and drug abuse and offering literature on healthy food for healthy life.
Some of
them run good schools in rural areas. Many Dalits are beneficiary of the
health
and educational benefits. I have not come across any adverse conversion
process
by them. If you have then , you must substantiate it and directly confront
them
instead of getting shocked. Life is two way process. The poor, the tribals,
may
not have money but they are human beings and are endowed with intelligence and
cannot be easily converted by missionaries unless they are convinced by
something. You have been in India, next time you are here investigate what is
right or wrong with the information you got and decide it for yourself!
Indian Christians are proud our cultural heritage and yet cannot accept
oppressive and exploitative social systems like progressive, liberative people
in other religions.
